Castor Oil is an oil which can be used in several ways. It is made from pressing castor beans which in turn leads to the production of the oil. This oil is loved by mostly everyone and has been in use for thousands of years due to its proteins and antibacterial properties which makes it beneficial for haircare, skin, irritations etc.
The best part is, it is not expensive and you can easily find it everywhere in stores. The oil contains a good amount of vitamin E. Castor oil is used not only for beauty purposes it also it caters its usage for medicinal, lubrication and other industrial uses.
Six Powerful Uses of Castor oil:
- For Skin: Cold pressed castor oils for skin helps in hydrating and moisturizing your skin. Apply 2-3 drops of the oil preferably at night before you go to bed after cleansing and toning, leave it overnight and wash it off the next morning, this will help in reducing dark spots or scars. It can be used as a body massage oil as well.
- For hair: The way you use the cold pressed oil for your skin, same way you can apply the oil on your hair using your finger tips and massage it on to the scalp and let it penetrate into the roots of you hair. However castor oils are thick so I would recommend mixing the oil with coconut oil to make it a little diluted. I use this mixture of coconut oil and castor oil on my hair, and after massaging it, would leave it on for at least 20 minutes to let the oil get absorbed. After that would get into a shower. This oil is a miracle when it comes to hair growth and it’s no joke. After using it for two months, I noticed two of my bald patches grew baby hairs. Also the oil can be used on your eyebrows which I did a couple of years ago when I had really skinny brows and wanted to grow them thick, so I used castor oil and the results were good. Using a mascara wand you can apply the oil on your eye lashes too, as it promotes lash growth.
- For Nails: Apply a little bit of the oil on your nails and cuticles, and cover those nukes and corners too to get them coated generously, this will boost your nail growth.
- Solution For Constipation: Castor oil acts as a natural laxative. According to researchers castor oil has a strong laxative effect because of the main fatty acid present in the oil and as a result it will aid in cleaning out the bowls within two to five hours after having consumed the oil. This helps to push out the stool and thus relieves constipation. A tablespoon or two would be enough when taken in a glass of orange juice. The effects depend on the amount of oil you take in, so the dosage can be adjusted. But recommended amount is 15ml. You can take it alone as well but it doesn’t taste good on it on. You can chill the oil before hand to lower down the taste but even so, it will not taste that good.
- For Lubrication Purposes: It can be used as a lubricant for machines or appliances. Due to its thick consistency the oil is like a grease and hence can be used safely.
- Remedy For Wrinkles: Castor oil can be used as a natural remedy for your wrinkles. The oil when applied, gets absorbed into the skin thus aiding in boost of collagen, which in turn hydrates the skin and rejuvenates it by making it softer. Apply a little bit of the oil on your wrinkles and leave it overnight.
