Hello lovelies,
Today my thoughts are on the charlotte tilbury Hollywood flawless filter in the shade 4.5. Literally this has been on my wishlist for so long that I just could not bring myself to buy this and when I saw a mini size of it, I went in store to buy as I needed to know what shade matches me. Charlotte Tilbury as a brand is pretty luxurious and definitely not price friendly as the full size of this particular product retails for Rs4000 here in India. The product has a lot of hype and is very popular among influencers and makeup lovers.
Price

- Smoothing airbrush polymers for giving a poreless-looking, creamy finish

Upon swatching it for the first time, it looks very pretty more like a light weight slightly thick consistency sort of a cream. Now I am not fan of this or I don’t know why but I did not like product that much. The first time I wore it alone and did the rest of my makeup, and excluded the foundation. However I felt the finish looked not great as I could see my texture and yes there is glow but it did not look that good. The second time I used this as a primer, and then went in with foundation, but then also texture was peeking through. Although this is illuminating, it does dry down to a matte finish with the glow and you don’t get much play time to blend this product into the skin. And it’s not that hydrating although the brand does claim it has moisturizing glossy oil in it. If you ask me it’s more like an illuminating BB cream. A sheer tint of coverage is provided. The shade 4.5 is fine but not an exact match, I was planning to go for shade 5 but the store representative said it would be dark on me and she was right about that.
I would recommend mixing a little of this product into your foundation and then see. I feel it looks better. It’s a good thing I bought the mini size. I like the MAC strobe cream more although it’s not the same as the Hollywood filter but the MAC one is more hydrating, radiant and the only thing is it’s not tinted like a bb cream but in terms of glow and the way this blends on the skin, the strobe cream would be my best pick. I have combination to oily skin type with slight texture so too much of illuminating type creams can emphasize texture. The hollywood flawless filter doesn’t have chunky type glitter as seen in the above photo, rather it’s finely milled but I don’t get much time to blend on the skin as it settles quite fast to a matte finish where you can’t move it anymore but the shine is there. For the price this is very expensive for the full size, so try out the mini before you invest in this.
