Hello everyone,
Today my thoughts are on the Chemist at Play Exfoliating Face Serum with Ceramides, 10% AHA+1% Hyaluronic Acid. I have been on the hunt for an exfoliating serum for some time and then heard good reviews on this product. Chemist at Play is India’s first ceramides-based skincare brand. It is based on the concept of 3Bs of skincare science – Bio Compatible, Bio- Effective and Botanical Actives.
Packaging: The serum comes in white dropper type bottle. Even the outer packaging looks nice, it’s a cardboard cylinder box type that matches to the theme of the product.

My Experience
First off I really like their packaging. The dropper of the bottle is also nice and dispenses the desired amount of serum you need. The first time I applied this on my face I felt a slight tingling and it does have a very mild medicinal sort of smell but goes off immediately once you have applied it. Don’t expect immediate results with this if you are not a beginner as you need to give it time. The first application I did not see any difference other than a mild glow in the morning. As I reached the third week I could see my skin was looking better rather slightly smooth and there is a glow. But I wouldn’t say major results however I noticed that my occasional acne breakouts did not occur that much.
The ingredient list seem fine too. It contains lactic acid which helps in removal of dead skin cells, evens out skin skin tone. Sodium hyaluronate is a water-soluble of hyaluronic acid that penetrates deep into the skin to replenish hydration. The serum has Saccharide isomerate which is a 100% naturally derived plant extract and functions as a humectant. Other ingredients are Glyeyrrhiza Glabra extract (licorice root extract), Oryza Sativa (natural plant extract that boost skin’s barrier function), and Amorphophallus (a natural moisturizer, konjac ceramide that helps the skin stay youthful and plump in terms of bringing moisture).
The exfoliating serum mildly lightens dark spots and I noticed that my hyperpigmentation which I have on the contour areas of my face have lightened a bit. It’s been a month and I am not mad at the mild results, as I am not a beginner to chemical exfoliation this may not come across to be that effective but it’s not bad either. For beginners this can be very helpful. Overall for the price this is good. Suitable for all skin types too as mentioned by the brand. The brand recommends using it twice a week followed by night time skincare routine.
