Are you a person who matches nail shades according to your outfits? There are times we do that too I suppose. Some of us love decking up those nails for parties and go on board with matching from makeup to hair and then making those nails in harmony with the whole look. Technically speaking or to be honest the best way to bring details to the nails or make them pop is to match them according to your skin tone.
So what colors should you be wearing according to your skin tone? Let’s find out;
For Fair Skin tone
This skin tone or people who are fair can rock mostly all colors as I feel it looks pretty on them. But most flattering nail colors would be pale or pastel shades like baby pink, pastel grey, mint greens etc. Sigh being a medium skin tone myself I sometimes wish I could pull off those type of colors. The blue toned red nail paints on lighter skin tone is something to look at with awe
Nail polishes with cool tones can go well for fair skin tones too.
For Medium Skin tone
For medium skin tones, colors like nudes pertaining to browns, and light mauves. The bubble gum shade which is a rosy light pink suits these sort of skin tones.
Even purple shades like those onion pink nail paints with purple hues look lovely. Medium to tan skin tones, metallic shades work for them.
For Dark Skin Tones
Dark chocolate colors look so good on deeper skin tones. Navy blue or royal blue looks flattering. Even darker toned purples look very pretty on these skin tones. Don’t opt for bright oranges or pastels as it can wash out your skin tone color.
In the end we all choose what we like to wear, but going according to our skin tones would be the best way to pop those nails in a sophisticated look. I love wearing shades that are cool toned but warm in color as I belong to medium tan skin tones. And I love metallic shades be it metallic purples, or golds etc. But I never wear silver metallic nail paints as it looks terrible on my skin tone and completely makes it look dark. I normally opt for golds, brown metallic nail paints which compliment my skin tone.
