Hello lovelies,
For a long time I have been wanting to test out this product and was in my wishlist. Finally got the chance to buy it. It is pricey considering for a drugstore product so I was debating if I should get it, well I couldn’t help myself and jumped in on the purchase. Today’s review focuses on the flower supernova celestial skin elixir, now that’s a mouth full to say and write 😅. The brand flower beauty is founded by Drew Barrymore. They make some really good affordable drugstore cosmetics out there. I have been hearing good reviews on the skin elixir and decided to give it a try. The brand launched on nykaa two years ago.

My Experience
This multipurpose skin elixir oil aims to hydrate, prime and smooth out your skin for smooth application of your makeup, and not to mention the glow factor comes in.
Upon first dispensing the oil to my palm I realized it looked so pretty, even when you just stare at the bottle it looks like a galaxy inside it. Right of the back you get a lavender scent, so this can be a con for those who hate or are sensitive to fragrances. But I don’t mind the smell. Now how I like to apply this is I take about 2-3 drops in my palm and massage it there and then apply on face by dabbing/pressing it on my skin. When you do this way the skin absorbs the oil and radiant glow appears, rather than directly pouring it on your face which could make it look a little greasy. I noticed it did not enhance my pores or texture but primed and smoothed out my skin. The shimmer isn’t chunky in this oil and hence gets evenly applied.
Another way is to mix this oil into your foundation which I did try out, and it gave a dewy look which I loved. If you have those matte foundations and you felt it makes you look too powdery or enhances texture then this elixir will solve the problem. I remember seeing one video of an influencer with Drew Barrymore next to her and recommending the best way she likes to use this is after she has done with her makeup application, she massages the elixir on her palm and pats on the face or rather high points this reflects a natural finish. Who would have thought you could use it that way, so I did try that method but I was worried if it would disturb the foundation, to my surprise it works. But that method is good if you have dry skin. This does hydrate the skin too. Either way I am impressed with this product and will continue to use it. I don’t think it will be heavy for oily skin people, just don’t pour the oil directly onto your face. Now for the price I will admit it is expensive and for the quantity you get too, but some of the pre-makeup oils do come at this rate, so it’s upto you regarding whether this will be useful. I did buy this on a very good sale deal which led me to Rs856 which was a steal on nykaa. I do feel for winter seasons this will come in handy more.
