My Experience
I have always gone back and forth if I needed this eyeshadow palette however I wanted to try formulation and it’s good thing I bought this on sale. The palette has a beautiful set of nudes and browns that is right up my alley. What most caught me was the textures.
The eyeshadows have good pigmentation and perform differently depending on their texture. The first row the shade filthy is a light baby pink matte formula, quite pigmented but you need to slightly build it to see at its full length. The second shade passion is I think my favorite from the lot as it has a reflective or a dual chrome finish to it. It appears blue but has brown tones to it as well. Third shade from the top is shameless, it is a high shine metallic or rather a foiled shade. Very pigmented and is best applied with your finger, a pink metallic, very pretty. The only con I find is that the metallics do have fallout so I would recommend going in with your eye look first and then do your base. The fourth shade is please me which is more of a taupe or deeper brown gold, similar formulation to the shade shameless. I am actually quite intrigued with the eyeshadow names😜. The fifth shade is a matte finish called hypnotic which is sort of a good nude shade for me. And the final shade in the top row is hard, this is a marble reflective brown toned shade, again I love these sort of tones, however this is not that reflective like the shade passion more of a matte with slight shimmers in it.
The second row starts from the shade untamed which is more of a chocolate brown matte shadow. Again it’s pigmented and blends seamlessly, good for creating a Smokey eye makeup. The second shade is irresistible, a beautiful foiled or high shine copper bronze metallic, these feel creamy to the touch too. The next shade is flower power which is champagne sort of marble finish. The fourth shade is a brown nude again a lovely matte shade for medium to dusky skin tones. The fifth shade is spicy, it’s a deeper chocolate matte shade with cool tones to it. And the final shade in that row is a matte eyeshadow arouse which is an orange based nude color. The mattes blend well, not much kick back when compared to the metallics.
The bottom row starts with the shade slippery, it’s exactly what it sounds slippery 😛. This is described as a encapsulated gloss with some berry pearls in it. Well to be honest I find no use for it, since I have oily lids this shade will crease and not to mention it doesn’t show up much so I tend not to play with it. The second shade is tantric, this is a true gold high metallic shade very versatile for all skin tones to apply. The third shade is naughty, it is a warm toned deep brown again matte finish. The fourth shade is provocative which is a marble reflective eyeshadow, not sure how to describe it in terms of the color probably a brown copper but has pink reflexes to it. Lovely dual chrome shine it has. The next shade is desire and oh my god this is a next level foiled shadow, it’s red and like the perfect Christmas look you can create with this shade. And the final shade is again a nude matte shade.
If you want that one palette from Huda beauty and you have the budget to splurge then I suggest you get this, however if you are a beginner then also you can try this but I would suggest to try the mini palettes to get a feel before splurging for the bigger palettes. And if you love your nudes and brown tones then definitely get this one. Overall I am satisfied with this palette. One more thing the metallic shades tend to move or might crease if you have got oily lids hence go in with an eyeshadow primer before the application. For the mattes brushes are good enough, for the marble and metallic eyeshadows use your fingers for application.
