Hello lovelies,
Today my thoughts are on the Kay Beauty illuminating highlighter in the shade sunlit gold. This highlighter has been on my mind for months ever since it got released last year august, but I kept it on hold and when I finally swatched it at the nykaa store I just couldn’t resist and bought it. My eyes were specifically fixed on the shade sunlit gold. The brand launched six shades, they are rosy dew, sunlit gold, honey glaze, champagne fizz, copper shine and frosted ice.
Price
INR 799 for 8.5gm
Features
- The formula is weightless.
- One stroke glow.
- The highlighter is natural finish and luminous sheen.
- It is enriched with avocado and mango butter.
- The product is super blendable and long lasting.
Packaging: The outer packaging of this product is well thought. Infact it comes in a sleek white and matte finish gold cardboard packaging with a protective sponge filling so that if the product falls or gets mishandled during the delivery process it won’t break which I felt is a thoughtful idea. The highlighter comes in a round sufficient medium size white pan where the lid of it is rose gold and inside you get a good mirror. Not too heavy so it won’t take up much space while you travel or to keep on your vanity, it is slim and not bulky.

My Experience
When I first swatched the product at store the payoff was intense and beautiful but upon receiving it after ordering it online, I felt the first swatch was sheer. So after warming it up with my finger as in going in with two swatches the pigment was getting more intense. But it is sort of sheer and buildable. The claim that it is a natural finish is true as when you do one swatch it gives you a beautiful sheer luminous finish and when you build it up you get an intense effect which I like. None the less it is a good highlighter especially the shade sunlit gold. I have the maybelline metallic chrome highlighter molten gold but it’s not that yellow gold color more like slightly deeper and has hints of peach so I was looking for a proper yellow gold shade highlighter.
I feel the brand has done a good job in formulating these highlighters. It is soft in texture and is weightless as the brand claims. Doesn’t emphasize skin texture when you apply this. With six shades to choose from, there are options for every skin tone out there. The price can be a little steep but considering the fact that it is a good formula and you do get it on sale on nykaa, I would say this is worth it. Overall I love using this highlighter.
