Hello lovelies,
With the pandemic around and masks on every time, wearing a full on makeup is becoming a limited option. Hence I updated my makeup routine making it minimalistic. Besides COVID-19 started last year and I really thought it would get atleast better this year around with the vaccine and all, unfortunately that’s not the case. The virus is dominating our lives everyday and this time it’s stronger.
Having to wear masks is a compulsion and when you wear a full face of foundation, it’s doesn’t completely last as it does transfer to your masks especially in humid climates. My simple or go to makeup routine involves the following:-
- Milani Conceal + Perfect 2-in-1 Foundation + Concealer (shade 06): First and foremost important step is to do your CTM routine and then your SPF if going out during the day. Before the pandemic started I would do a full face of foundation but with the arrival of masks I normally just conceal my eyes with this foundation as it can be used as a concealer and foundation. This foundation is the right tone and shade for my skin tone as well. Does give me enough coverage to conceal those dark circles. But before I go in with milani I use an under eye cream, as that area tends to be dry or rather crusty.
- Nykaa New Molten Matte Lip & Cheek Colour Liquid Lipstick: Second step I go in with is the nykaa liquid blush. Now I simply love the formula of this blush I am not sure why but whenever I apply this my cheeks my texture seems to look more smooth and even. Hence I wear this compulsorily. They have a variety of shades in this range. Go check it out and also it’s not that expensive, you do get them on sale on nykaa.
- Kay Beauty HD Setting Loose Powder: Normally you do this step as second but since I am using a liquid blush, I powder after that on my cheeks and to set my under eyes so that the concealer does not crease. This is a must have product if you haven’t tried Kay beauty cosmetics by Katrina. I don’t know what it is with this powder but I get a blurred and smooth finish base. The formula is too good and it is really finely milled and light weight. You get a good range of shades as well. I really love some of her products like the eyeshadow crayon sticks, the illuminating highlighters and even the blushes that came out recently.
- Nykaa Eyes On Me Eyeshadow Palette: I always keep a basic neutrals palette whether it’s nykaa or Anastasia’ sultry palette (cool toned), you must have that one palette with warm or neutral colors that you can use everyday. Normally I set my eyes with a nude brown tone shade and then use the black to line my upper corners of the eyes, I don’t go in all the way till inner corner. The same goes with my bottom waterline area, I line the outer corners but I don’t do my waterline inside, as I like it to give the illusion of bigger eyes. If I am in a mood I do a soft Smokey eye look using the matte dark brown shade and line using the black eyeshadow or might smudge the black slightly.
- Nykaa Lash Talk Curl Power Curling Mascara: This mascara is nice however it’s not completely water resistant so I only apply this on my upper lashes as whenever I apply this on my lower lashes it tends to smudge. But none the less it gives my lashes the lift and length which makes it look wispy and pretty. This mascara is fairly easy to remove so it’s good for daily use. I use the L’OrĂ©al lash paradise mascara as well but not on regular basis as it is very difficult to take it off but that’s my favorite mascara none the less. And then fill in my eyebrows with the etude house drawing eyebrow pencil.
- Maybelline Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter (shade Molten gold): This is the second final step and the most blissful step as I love highlighting my high points of the face. A touch of this product and your good to go. I also use the Kay beauty illuminating highlighter in the shade sunlit gold so I switch between these two highlighters depending on what tone or finish I am looking for.
- Lipstick: The final step to give that glam. Just because you are wearing a mask doesn’t mean you don’t have to wear a lipstick, you can always wear a liquid lipstick as they are non transferring. Or you can skip this step depending on what you prefer.
