Hello everyone,
Today my review take is on the Ponds super light gel moisturizer. When this came out a lot of hype came into the picture and I could understand why. An oil free moisturizer that is water based, suitable for mostly all skin types. Lately water based gel creams are trending in the skincare market as in countries like India where humidity is high these moisturizers come in handy for the skin.
Price
INR 149 for 73gm
INR 147 for 147gm
Packaging: The moisturizer comes in a plastic tub where there is a silver foil to seal it in. The product is gel like watery consistency and hence I would recommend not to completely remove the foil, if your are traveling and the moisturizer is placed incorrectly, there are chances of leakage. So when using for the first time just remove or tear off a small part of the foil. When I was holding it slightly in a slanting position the gel did move, so bear that in mind.
Features
- Contains hyaluronic acid.
- Lightweight formula.
- 24 hours hydration.
- Suitable in using for all seasons.
My Experience
The first time I swatched the gel, it gave off water sort of jelly consistency. The texture of this moisturizer is very pretty to look at actually. As the brand claims it does give a boost of hydration and this is such a good moisturizer for oily skin types. It is a dupe for neutrogena hydro boost water gel, clinic moisture surge and also It’s Skin hyaluronic acid moisture cream. I have tried the neutrogena and I can say it definitely is a dupe for that one. And I am currently using It’s Skin hyaluronic acid moisture cream and I can say it’s similar but the ponds one is a little more lighter.
The gel is lightweight as the brand claims and doesn’t feel sticky or oily. The moisturizer is infused with ingredients hyaluronic acid and Vitamin E. However for dry skin beauties out there this will not be enough, you can use this in you skincare routine as a final step or go in with another moisturizer. But during summers this moisturizer is enough especially in humid conditions this will work well. It doesn’t provide 24 hours hydration like it claims, maybe upto 4-5 hours it will provide hydration. For the price this is a steal and for oily skin beauties this is the best option for them. Overall I like using this moisturizer during the day and at night I prefer something more hydrating.
Pros
- Affordability.
- Lightweight and excellent moisturizer for oily skin beauties.
- Available in stores like department stores or supermarkets and online.
- Oil free.
Cons
- Doesn’t provide 24 hours hydration.
- It is not travel friendly if you completely remove the seal.
