These days ceramide the ingredient is growing popular in skincare industry. Some or many of the Korean and other Asian skincare companies are inculcating this ingredient to tackle issues such as reducing dark spots, evening out skin texture etc. So what are ceramides? They are basically lipids(fats) that are found naturally in the uppermost layers of skin in high concentrations. It is a determining factor of how your skin looks. Ceramides make up 50% of your skin’s composition.

Recently my Etude house moistfull collagen emulsion ran out and I was on the lookout for another emulsion to try out. Hence came across the face shop rice ceramide moisturizing emulsion. This emulsion relieves dry skin skin and reduces flaking with the use of ceramide which in turn helps to maintain skin barrier. It is a light weight moisturizer perfect for day time. You can use this at night followed by locking in it with your regular moisturizer. The rice extract plays a vital role in tackling skin issues.

My Experience
The product comes in a thick plastic bottle with a screw cap. The consistency of this is more like a light weight lotion. Heads up this does a fragrance which makes it smell good, kind of like a floral perfume. But for those of you who are sensitive to scents I wouldn’t recommend this product. It’s been three weeks since into usage of this emulsion and I can put in my thoughts on this product. But before that let me just tell you what is an emulsion. They are lighter than your cream and lotions but thicker and less concentrated than serums. It can be used as a final step in your skincare routine after cleansing and toning or as a base in preparation for the next step moisturizer.
This emulsion as mentioned is suitable for combination to oily skin. But if you are on the drier side I would suggest using another moisturizer as a final step to lock in all the other products be it your essence, serum or emulsion you have used. Coming to my experience in using this product, I didn’t feel a remarkable change in my skin texture but I do feel it does aid in reducing your dark spots a bit. However with most skincare products, time is an essential factor in determining whether the product yields results or not. With just three weeks into the product I couldn’t find drastic results but it does provide hydration. During the day I use this emulsion as my final step followed by my sunscreen. At night after cleansing, toning, I use this product and then go in with my it’s skin hyaluronic acid moisture cream. Since I have dehydrated combination skin type I can get oily during the day with my cheeks being dry and at night I am more normal to dry depending on the humidity in my state. I know it’s a difficult skin type to deal with and on top of that I have texture which I hate.
The bottle doesn’t come with a pump, so you need to shake it out for the product to come onto your palm. Since it’s not runny the emulsion won’t pop out like a lot. However I do feel whenever I will hit the bottom I will have to shake the hell out of it to dispense the product, it would be vice to use a pump on this product. The emulsion layers well and helps in laying out a base for further steps in your skincare routine. Overall I like this emulsion but it’s nothing great, for the price I find it fine plus you do get it on sale.
